Secure application development with post-quantum readiness

Build or improve web applications and APIs with agreed security requirements, documented cryptographic dependencies, and a practical path for future post-quantum migration.

Application engineering with readiness planning. PQC integration remains assessment or laboratory-prototype work unless specific implementation evidence supports a stronger claim.

New applications and existing systems

Build a new application

Define and develop a scoped web application or API for a SaaS product or business workflow.

Improve an existing application

Review selected functionality, security requirements, and cryptographic dependencies before agreeing improvements.

What you receive

  • Agreed requirements, a threat model, and documented architecture decisions.
  • Application code and tests for the agreed functionality and security requirements.
  • A scoped record of cryptographic dependencies, providers, and evidence gaps.
  • Compatibility constraints and a prioritized post-quantum readiness backlog.
  • Handover documentation, with deployment and maintenance included only where agreed.

What post-quantum readiness means

Readiness means understanding cryptographic dependencies, vendor constraints, and how supported components could be replaced as technologies evolve. It does not mean PQC is deployed throughout the application or that the application is universally quantum-safe. Ordinary application engineering does not require a PQC prototype.

From scope to handover

  1. 01

    Scope

Agree objectives, system ownership, authorized access, evidence handling, and acceptance criteria.

  2. 02

    Design

Document trust boundaries, security requirements, cryptographic dependencies, and platform constraints.

  3. 03

    Build and verify

Implement the agreed functionality and test it against the defined requirements.

  4. 04

    Handover

Deliver code, findings, documentation, and the readiness backlog. Agree any deployment or ongoing work separately.

Optional: a bounded PQC laboratory prototype

Where established libraries, platforms, and protocols support the selected use case, evaluate a specific integration in a safe test environment. Record the applicable standard, implementation and evidence level, environment, compatibility and performance results, limitations, and review date. Evolext does not create custom cryptographic primitives.

Standards and evidence context

NIST FIPS 203, 204, and 205

ML-KEM specifies key encapsulation; ML-DSA and SLH-DSA specify digital signatures. Reference only the standard relevant to the selected integration. Algorithm standards do not establish application security or certification.

NIST CSWP 39upd1 — Crypto Agility

Final guidance for planning replaceable cryptographic dependencies and operational transitions. Application readiness remains limited by platform support and the evidence available.

References reviewed: 12 October 2026. Platform support is checked for each engagement.

Scope and limitations

  • No universal security guarantee, compliance certification, or managed security monitoring.
  • Third-party cryptography remains subject to provider capabilities and documented responsibilities.
  • A laboratory prototype is not evidence of production readiness. Deployment requires separate compatibility, operational, and security decisions.

Common questions

Can I commission application development without PQC integration?

Yes. Agree the application scope first; document relevant cryptographic dependencies and future constraints without requiring a prototype.

How is this different from PQC migration?

This service builds or improves application functionality. The migration service evaluates a selected cryptographic transition in an existing system.

What if a provider does not support the intended integration?

Record the dependency, vendor questions, and a readiness backlog. A production integration is not promised where support is unavailable.

What should I share in an inquiry?

A high-level description of your application, whether it is new or existing, and the goal. Do not submit credentials, code, or confidential architecture details.

Start with an assessment when needed

Discuss your application

Share your application goal. Evolext will define the delivery scope and evidence requirements before work begins.
